Hands on manual therapy
A variety of hands on techniques to treat your complaint. These may include trigger point therapy, myofascial release, deep tissue massage, stretching and mobilising joints.
Dry Needling Therapy
Manual dry needling technique is effective in de-activating trigger points or 'knots' to help restore muscle function and reduce pain.
The use of dry needling is of course optional, it is not compulsory as part of your treatment.
Exercise Therapy and Stretching
Your injury does not need to become the new you!
We can help you feel better.
If you have suffered an injury we will formulate a program specific to your condition with home based exercises to help you recover as best as possible while also prevent further injury, reduce pain and restore function.
Exercise therapy is usually recommended during all treatments to assist injury, improve posture, improve strength and improve general function.
Cupping Therapy
Specialised vaccum cups are placed on the body to help assist with circulation and blockages and restrictions within the muscles. Cups are usually placed on specific points for between 2 to 5 minutes as required. Cupping is particularly helpful for pain.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle form of massage that focuses on promoting better movement of lymph through the body to reduce swelling, which can occur for a variety of reasons.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage can benefit anyone for a number of reasons:
-
Relieving swelling after injury - sprains or strains
-
Alleviating swelling in hands and feet
-
Reducing puffiness in the face
-
Promoting immune function
-
Reducing swelling after surgery

What should I expect in a typical treatment?
On arrival you will be asked to complete a client history form. The therapist will ask you questions about your condition and do some physical assessments and testing. From here they will formulate a treatment plan and explain it to you. With your consent the therapist will treat you using the above methods described that are specific to your needs. The therapist will check and discuss and re-assess things as the session progresses. Finally the therapist will re-test you condition and note improvements and discuss what further treatments may be required to effectively treat your condition fully. Specific advice and homework may be also given.
